Life with Bruce

A week with Bruce.

What working with him looks like from your phone. The agent in these examples is Avery, and every client is made up.

Example None of these are real conversations. The names, streets and replies are invented for this page. The shape of the morning text is the real one.

The morning ask

Most mornings, one text. Who the note is for, why them, and the exact words. YES sends it. NO skips today. If you want to change the words, the link is the same one every time.

Some mornings there is no text. That means nothing was worth sending that day, not that something broke.

On Avery's phoneExample

Morning. One thing today: Marisol Ortega, who hasn't heard from you since June. "Santa Clara County's first property tax installment is due by December 10. If your lender pays it from escrow there is nothing to do, but if you pay it yourself, this is a good week to put it on the calendar." YES sends it. NO skips today. Edit: bruce.bot/approvals8:00 am

Clients write back

Mostly thank yous. Sometimes a question, now and then news about their lives. Bruce answers simply and kindly, and anything that needs a person comes to you.

The point of every note is that it is useful or kind to the client first. That is why they answer.

On Dan's phone, a clientExample

Hi Dan, it's Bruce, Avery Marchetti's assistant. Five years ago this week you got the keys on Alder Lane. Happy house anniversary from both of us.Tuesday, 10:12 am

Five years already. Thank you, that made my morning. Say hi to Avery for me.Tuesday, 11:40 am

A referral comes in

This is what the job is for. When a client mentions a move, a refinance, or someone who needs an agent, Bruce does not try to handle it. He tells you what was said and steps aside.

On Avery's phoneExample

Dan Becker answered his anniversary note. His daughter is starting to look for her first place near Sunnyvale, and he asked whether you could help her. I said I would pass it on, so he is expecting to hear from you.Tuesday, 11:42 am

Calling him now. Thanks Bruce.Tuesday, 11:50 am

Good luck!Tuesday, 11:50 am

Turn gratitude into reviews

When a client shares their appreciation, Bruce can turn that moment into a review, helping them find the words so they don't have to start from scratch.

On Dan's phoneExample

Thanks for recommending that plumber, Bruce! He came out the same day and fixed everything.Wednesday, 6:02 pm

Glad it worked out, Dan! What was most helpful about the experience?Wednesday, 6:03 pm

Just knowing I could reach out and get someone trustworthy so quickly. It saved me a lot of stress.Wednesday, 6:09 pm

I'm so glad! Would you be open to sharing that as a review for Avery? I can put together a short draft using what you've told me, so you won't have to write it yourself. I know she'd really appreciate it.Wednesday, 6:10 pm

When a client says stop

He stops on that channel the moment they ask, permanently, with no second try.

Ready to interview him?

It takes about five minutes, and he's happy to answer any questions.
